Kalam asked me to marry him. But wait, there is a catch. He won't marry me unless I convert to Islam. I won't convert to Islam (this is something I have thought about very carefully), so I have broken his heart and mine by saying no.
I love him, but not enough to give up my life. He is crazy about me (he can't sleep without me) but he won't marry moi unless I become a Muslim, he won't meet me half way and marry me (without me converting to Islam) but raise our children as muslims.
So it is not to be.
*Crying now* :'(

Well this won't be any consolation, but if you are not prepared to take on a religion that would play such a large part in your life, then you have made the right decision.

Better hearts get broken now than later when there may be children involved to get hurt too.

I know I have no room to preach on that particular subject but, just thought I'd mention it.

You are the only one can make that decision ofcourse, but asking you to change religion is a big ask. Why does he asume you would be the one to have to convert? He thinks your religion is good enough to date you, but not marry you. sounds a little hypocritical of him to me, but thats jjust my view.

He assumes THAT because he is a Muslim, and they don't believe women are worth squat. Women don't go to heaven in Islam, but terrorists are met with 72 virgins, or as it now seems possible from a better translation of the original load of old rubbish, 72 raisins. I am so-o-o-o going to die by terrorism...

You are better off without him. There is no god, anyone can see that, and if the bloke you posted about cannot, he is insane, which makes him a less good choice, out of the 3,000,000,000 people who are not the same sex as you. (Oh dear, I have implicitly dissed the gays. Never mind, they can care about each other.)

I honestly think you are too young to get married. Give it another 5 years or better still 10. There are plenty more guys in the world.
