Kalam

As you know told Kalam that I wouldn't become a Muslim, I felt like I would be giving up so much, as Muslim women don't have much freedom and I'm quite an independent and outgoing person.
There was alot of tears, from him and from me. Afew days later he said that he would marry me whatever the situation. He said to me that he would marry me even if i didn't become a muslim (which is a huge thing for him, as he would get alot of shite from his family for that), as long as we raised our children as muslim.
He says that he thought religion mattered, but he wants to marry me regardless.
I still can't bring myself to do it. I'm 18, thats too young to get married. I told him this, and he said "lets take things slowly, we'll get married in a year."
I broke up with him. Its not fair to lead him on. If we could have a normal relationship, then it would be fine. But I'm way too young for marriage.
Its a shame cos I really do love him.
